Our ever-evolving style of Kwon Ryu Fu Chi Do experienced its most recent change with the addition of the Journey: a comprehensive outdoor test of technique, skill and endurance. Strategically placed at the halfway point between white and black belts, the appropriately named “Journey” is just that…meant to challenge the tester to perform to the best of his or her ability.
Each journey is cumulative and curriculum specific, with age appropriate drills and self defense scenarios for children, adolescents, teens and adults, all executed in a well supervised and safe testing environment. Teamwork is also a staple theme of each journey, regardless of age. While working hard to achieve one’s goal, the tester will have the support of his or her instructors and fellow students throughout the test.
At HKA, we believe that balance is a key aspect of life. True to form, a Journey is meant to be a combination of hard work, perseverance and fun.
